What is Periodontitis?

Periodontitis if often referred to periodontal disease. It is infections of the structure around the teeth which includes the gums and bones. The disease starts out as gingivitis ant hen advances to periodontitis if not treated. The gums begin to pull away from the gums and form “pockets” where bacteria will accumulate and case an infection. Your body will begin to fight the infection and that will start the breakdown of the bone and connective tissue. Your connective tissue is crucial for holding your teeth in place.
